

Jerry was a long time resident of Trussville. She grew up in the community of Alton, AL and graduated from Hewitt-Trussville High School in 1947. She retired from the U.S. Treasury Department in Management after 35 years of service. Jerry was married to Dewey for 40 years. They enjoyed travelling and spending time with family. Both were faithful members of Roebuck Park Baptist Church now Northpark Baptist. She enjoyed singing in the choir and serving in small group.
Jerry was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Pylant; her parents, Almous and Louise Barnett; siblings, Eugene Mims Barnett, Sue Hames, and son-in-law, Dan Henderson.
She is survived by her daughters, Lynda Mullins (Jim) and Rita Henderson; grandsons, Jamie Mullins (Kelly), Kevin Mullins (Apryl); granddaughter, Andrea Hopkins (Jamey); seven great-grandchildren, Conner and Presley Mullins, Tripp and Carson Mullins, Ellyson Foret-Hopkins, Addison and Cole Hopkins. Jerry was blessed with many special friends and family including nieces and nephews.

Caregivers at Regency Retirement Village and ProChoice Hospice.
A visitation for Jerry will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235, followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 PM. Pallbearers will be Jamie Mullins, Kevin Mullins, Conner Mullins, Jamey Hopkins, Gene Barnett, Daryl Scott and Don Pylant.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to Alzheimer's of Central Alabama at P.O. Box 2273, Birmingham, AL 35201-2273.
