Joe was born on February 3,1923 in Palermo, Sicily to Guesseppe and Maria Romano Reina. He married Annette Cerniglia on February 14, 1961 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Homewood.
Joe is survived by his bride of sixty years, Annette and his three sons. Joey and Kimberly Reina reside in Bloomington,IL with grandchildren Ryan and Taylor Griffin. Pat and Jill Reina reside in Atlanta, GA with grandchildren Courtney Reina and Austin (Allyson) Baker. Frank and Laura Reina reside in Hoover, Al..
Joe leaves behind sisters Concetta, Maria and Providenza and numerous nieces and nephews all residing in Italy. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Domenica, Alberto, and Cosimo.
Joe was a devoted husband and father. His very special relationship with his granddaughter Courtney brought him great joy. The two were the talk of his grandson Austin’s wedding two years ago dominating the dance floor in his 96th year. His family credits his daily pasta meal to his 98 years of strength and longevity. Joe was a man of few but many impactful words that will live on in the family’s legacy. He will be missed by family and all who knew him.
