

Gladys Esther Terradas Lee, died peacefully at the age of 86 at her home surrounded by loved ones. Gladys is survived by her husband of 65 years, Frank Garrison Lee and their 4 children Frank Lee, Jr., Michael Lee (Stephanie), Cindy Lewis (David) and Scottie Lee (Teresa). She is survived by her 10 grandchildren Katie Daily (Juston) Kendall Nichelson (Jud), Pilar Lee, Garrison Lee, Fraser Lee, Spencer Lee, Noah Lee, Madison Lee, Sophia Lee and Caleb Lee and three great grandchildren Dylan, Roman and Cruz Dailey. She is survived by her brothers Dr. Miguel Terradas (Lourdes), Raul Terradas and her sister Lia Fernadez (Juan) and many nieces, nephews and a host of lifelong friends. Gladys came to the US to attend college in 1947; she became a US citizen in 1961. She was an active member of Glen Iris Baptist Church from 1958 to 1969. In 1969 she joined Shades Crest Baptist Church and was an active member until her passing. Gladys loved to cook her favorite dishes from Cuba for her family and friends. She was an avid artist. She worked for years with the Internationals at Southside Baptist helping them to learn English. Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, Dr.Miguel Angel Terradas Hernandez and Esther Martinez Reyes, her son, Clifford (Buddy) Lee and brother, Jose (Pepe) Terradas. Gladys was known throughout her life in Cuba to family and friends as “Cuca” and will always be remembered to her loved ones and friends in the states, forever as “Nana.” Family will receive friends on Friday, February 5, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Shades Crest Baptist Church, Birmingham with a Celebration of Life Service following at 11:30 a. m. Burial at Elmwood Cemetery.
