

Hazel was a strong, dignified woman that loved her family and friends.
She was preceded in passing by her beloved husband of 55 years, Troy J. Perry Sr., her brother Phillip Brasher, and her grandson, Kevin Jack Rumore.
Hazel is survived by her son Troy J. Perry Jr. and his wife Mary; sisters Gloria Acton and Margaret Knighton; grandchildren Allison Frye (Richard), Elizabeth Perry Dickson (Matthew), Troy J. Perry III, and Emma Grace Perry; great-grandchildren Chase and Alex Frye; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Hazel taught Sunday school for 42 years with St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. She was most recently a member of Center Point United Methodist Church. Hazel was a hard worker throughout her lifetime. She worked as a secretary for ITE Imperial, as well as, a health screener for the Industrial Health Counsel. She was a wonderful dancer and enjoyed dancing with her husband back in their prime. Hazel will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 10 from 1 – 2 pm at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235. Celebration of Life service will follow at 2 pm. Interment at Forest Hill Cemetery, Birmingham, AL.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to any organization benefiting diabetes research in memory of Hazel.
