Hobson A. Head

Visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm on December 1st at Rideout’s Trussville Chapel. The funeral service will be held at 2pm on December 2nd at Rideout’s Trussville Chapel. Lloyd Hayes of New Life Church of the Nazarene will be officiating. Burial will immediately follow the funeral at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Head was born in Banks, Alabama on June 8, 1928 (one of seven children). He graduated from Greenville High School. After joining the Army National Guard he served a one year tour of duty in Korea.

Mr. Head was married to Mary Rae Lusk on June 23, 1951; they were married 57 years.

Mr. Head worked as a Meter Reader for Alabama Gas Corporation and retired after 38 years. Mr. Head enjoyed wood-carving, camping, and gardening. Mr. Head was dearly loved by his church family, biological family, and numerous friends.

Mr. Head is survived by his son and daughter, Hobson McGill Head (Tammy), and Amy Carter (Greg); his 3 grandchildren: Sally Self (Justin), Gregory Carter, Jr., and Celeste Taylor; his 4 great-grandchildren: Georgia, Clara, and Charlotte Self, and Colt Tron.
