Ida Lorene Rickles June 5, 1917 to Feb 10, 2016 Mrs Rickles passed in her sleep in her 98th year. She was preceded in death by her parents Henry Clay and Ada Vaughn, her husband Lonnie Gordon Rickles and her nine siblings She is survived by her sons, Gordon (Margaret Ann) and Doug (Carol), four grandchildren Michele (Tom) Sheehan, Melinda (John) Payne, Letitia (Ralph) Covella, Keith (Amy) Rickles and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren Born in Hayden Al, she married Lonnie Gordon Rickles of Kimberly in 1937 and moved to Birmingham in 1945 and lived in the Birmingham area for the rest of her life She enjoyed sewing for her granddaughters, quilting and especially liked working in her yard, winning numerous "yard of the month" awards. Family will receive friends on Saturday, February 13, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home with graveside services and burial following at 2:00 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, make donations to the Birmingham Humane society.
