He is survived by his wife Frances, daughter Theresa (Robert) Atencio and son Michael (Erma) Whitfield.
He is also survived by stepsons Mark (Stacie) and Johnny (Bonnie) Harris. He has eight grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
He was retired from the United States Army with 30 years of service.
Funeral service will be Tuesday September 25, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel, with interment to follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening September 25, 2012 from 6 until 8 P.M.
