MASSEY, JAMES "LARRY" age 74, of Gardendale, passed away August 8,2017. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Iva, daughter Rhonda (Jeff), son Tommy (Janna) and son Alan (Becky). 7 grandchildren and 9-1/2 great-Grandchildren. Larry was retired from the Alabama National Guard after serving "37 years, 5 months and 18 days". He was a member of 1st Baptist Church of Mt, Olive, a life member of Bessemer Elks #721, a member FOE 972 and the American Legion. Visitation will be Friday August 11, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. till 11:00 a.m. followed by services at 11:00 a.m.at Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel with burial at Elmwood Cemetery. Officiated by Bro. Jon Ferguson and Bro. Doug Moore. In lieu of flowers, family request donations to 1st Baptist Mt. Olive, Joash Chest.
