James Larry Partain

James Larry Partain was born April 11, 1943 in St. Clair County, AL. Affectionately known as Larry. Larry was a US veteran having served in the US Air Force. He had a long-decorated career as an over-the-road truck driver with Consolidated Freight Ways. Larry passed away peacefully at home on July 9, 2025.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Wheeler and Opal Partain. His loving wife of 37 years Edith Partain. Four sisters, Bobby Collins (Jerry), Betty Powers (Bob), Peggy Isreal (Edwin), and Charlotte Luker (Larry). Four Brothers, Leon Partain, Danny Partain, Billy Partain, and Emmett Partain.

He is survived by his two daughters, Kimberly Pannell (Greg) and Dawn Kirkpatrick (Chris). Son, Michael Partain. Brother, Steve Partain. Seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He also leaves behind a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and nieces and nephews.

A visitation for friends and family will be held at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel on Wednesday, July 16th from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. The chapel service will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. Burial will immediately follow the chapel service at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville. Pastor Gresh Harbuck will preside over the service.
