Tate, James E. Age 95, of Hueytown, Alabama went to be with the Lord on November 15, 2016. Visitation will be held on Saturday the 19th at Elmwood Chapel from 10:00 a.m. til 11:00 a.m. with funeral service following at Elmwood Chapel. He will will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Gardens in Bessemer.Mr. Tate was the son of Roy and Mammie Tate. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 68 yrs Mrs. Velta Beck Tate and two brothers Harold and Cecil Tate and also his son-in-law Alan Linberg. He is survived by his daughter Lynn Tate Lindberg (Alan) and son Ronnie (Dinah), one brother Roy Lee Tate, five grandchildren Jeff Lindberg (Heather), Jessica Lindberg Handley (Jason), Christa Tate Karrh (Max), Adam Tate (Charity) and Wes Tate. He had seven great-grandchildren Kennedy and Kassidy Lindberg, Kelsey and Megan Handley, Caroline and Mary Maxwell Karrh and Conner Tate. James was a long time member of Forest Hills Baptist Church of Fairfield. He served In World War II as corporal, US Army Air Force and was sergeant in the 160th Fighter Squadron, NGAB, Birmingham Alabama and retired from US Steel with 40 plus years of service. Jason Handley will officiate the service.
