Jane Beard Little

Jane Beard Little passed away Saturday, May 4th at her home in Suwanee, Georgia at the age of 83. Jane was born August 29, 1935 in Pine Apple, Alabama and graduated High School from Moore Academy in 1953. Upon graduation, she moved to Birmingham and attended business school and completed her Secretary certificate. She then began working at Alabama Power Company, where she met her future husband Charles Little. They wed in 1956 and after a short time in the West End area of Birmingham, moved to Fairfield where they raised their 2 sons, Michael (Sharon) of Hoover, and Christopher (Rebecca) of Suwanee, Georgia. After raising her sons, Jane went back to work at Alabama Gas Corp. where she retired. In 1987, Charles & Jane relocated to Hoover and joined Lakeside Baptist Church, where she was active in Women on Mission, Pre-school ministry; and volunteered part-time at children’s nursery called God’s House. Jane was passionate about hospitality and enjoyed serving others and her family. She loved children, but especially her four grandchildren Allison, Cameron, Garrett & Preston. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m., May 11, followed by a 2:00 p.m. chapel service at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in Jane’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.act.alz.org.
