Jean H. Fox, 84 of Fairfield, Alabama died May 1, 2015 at home after a long battle with Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. Jean was born in Birmingham, AL. She graduated from Phillips High School in 1948. After high school Jean worked at Blue Cross Blue Shield. She is survived by her devoted husband, Martin Fox; daughter, Laura Nigg; son in law, Robert Nigg; sister in law Judy Hammitt; niece, Melanie Lea Teeters; and nephews, Michael Hammitt and Mark Hammitt. Jean was a member of the Panorama Study Club (Alabama Federated Women’s Club), Allemande Club (Square Dancing Club), and Dale Carnegie Speakers Club. She attended Shepard’s Center West and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Jean enjoyed crafts, painting, and square dancing. She will be remembered for her bright and sparkling personality, and creativity. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church (1730 St Charles Ave SW, Birmingham, AL 35211) or Parkinson ’s Disease Foundation (support.pdf.org). The family will receive friends Monday, May 4th from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Elmwood Chapel. Funeral services for Mrs. Jean will be Tuesday, May 5th at 2:00 pm at Elmwood Chapel with burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
