Jeanette Y. Roberts (Jenny) of Hoover, 79, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 19, 2025. Jenny was born on July 20, 1945 in Birmingham, AL, to Eloise Busby and Aaron York. She married Elbert F. Roberts, Jr. (Buddy) of Central Park in 1963. She attended Ensley High School where she was a leader in the Girl’s Athletic Association and the Young Women’s Auxiliary. Two days after graduating high school, Jenny started work at Bellsouth where she was employed for 26 years and rose to a management-level position. Jenny and Buddy moved to Hoover in 1971, where they raised their three children and Jenny was an active member at Green Valley Baptist Church and Shades Crest Baptist Church. Jenny is preceded in death by Buddy, her sister Ann Crane, and her parents. She is survived by her daughter Melany Pierson (Toby), sons Michael Roberts (Amy) and Mark Roberts (Rebecca), and grandchildren Jeanne Clare Pierson, Tanner Roberts, Kole Roberts, William Roberts, and Amelia Roberts. A celebration of Jenny’s life will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Elmwood Funeral Home, 800 Dennison Ave SW, Birmingham, AL 35211. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., with a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. Many thanks to all of the friends and caregivers who have helped Jenny through the past few months.
