Jesse Auborn Adams (Joe) age 88 passed away on April 14, 2015. He was born in Blount County, Alabama and was the son of Henry and Ida Adams. He graduated from Blount County High School. While serving his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II he was assigned to a medium rocket landing ship and also served on the USS Macon. After the war he married Jimmie Louise Myers and was employed by Birmingham Electric Company as a streetcar conductor and bus driver. He retired from US Steel after 33 years as a process observer in the Metallurgical Department. He was a longtime member and deacon of The Hunter Street Baptist Church and then later a member of Valleydale Baptist Church. He is survived by his daughter Deborah Craven Revelle and her husband Judson from Grayslake, Illinois, his granddaughter, Brook Craven Hitchcock, and her husband Neil from Hoover, and his great grandson Everett William Hitchcock. Funeral services will be held at Johns - Ridout's Elmwood Chapel on Wednesday, April 22 at 2:00 PM with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM.
