Reed, Jewell Pauline “Polly”, 87, passed away August 26, 2011, surrounded by her family. Many will remember her fondly from working at the Dairy Cone in Trussville. She was affectionately known to family and close friends simply as “Big Mom.” She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Reed. She is survived by her children, Betty Tidwell, Joan Ray (Tarlton), Bonny Martin (Reggie), Beckey Askins (William), Tommy Reed, and David Reed (Lynne), as well as 12 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She was the epitome of patience, love, and kindness to all. The Family would like to thank Birmingham Nursing & Rehab East and SouthernCare Hospice. The visitation will be Sunday August 28, 2011, at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel, from 12:30 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest at Central Baptist Church Cemetery in Argo.
