JOAN CUNNINGHAM OXLEY, age 95 of Pinson, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 12, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Floyd Oxley; and brother, John Clarke Cunningham. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Oxley Klein; grandchildren, Gary David Batchelor, Jr. (Anna), Vanessa Batchelor Tidwell (Wayne) and Emily Grace Klein; and great-grandchildren, Ava Lindli Batchelor and Montgomery June Batchelor. Joan was a native of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and spent many years as a secretary in many different fields including with the U.S. Government in Washington, D.C. where she was able to travel the world. She enjoyed traveling, painting, jigsaw puzzles and crosswords. She also enjoyed crafting, including making gingerbread houses with her granddaughter and making Christmas ornaments and doll houses. Her family will have a private memorial service at a later time.
