

Judith Clay Saunders Fondren was born in Grenada, MS. Her parents, Clifford Law Saunders & Mildred Helm Saunders preceded her in death. She was the last survivor of her siblings Clifford Law Saunders, Jr., Betty Saunders, Norma Jean Daniel, and Ann Saunders.
She married the love of her life Charlie Mack Fondren in 1962 and was married until he went with Jesus in 2016 after 54 years of marriage. She is survived by one daughter, Kelly Fondren; and the joy of her life were her two grandsons, Jackson Clay Waller ( who was named after her) and Austin Fondren, whom she affectionately called Bo. She is also survived by her nieces, Cathy McDaniel of FL and Sue Kimball of GA.
She worked at South Central Bell from 1958 to 1987 as a legal secretary. She was a member of South Roebuck Baptist Church from 1977 to present.
People will say she passed away on May 19th 2025, but she did not. She went to live in her eternal home with Jesus & was reunited with so many loved ones. Her prayer was to be reunited with with everyone she loved still here one glorious day.
A visitation for Judith will be held Thursday, May 22, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Church of the Highlands | Grants Mill Campus, 4700 Highlands Way, Birmingham, AL 35210, followed by a celebration of life at 1:00 PM.
