Julia Jones, 92, entered into the Lord’s presence on December 7, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Martha Jones; and sister, Betty Jones Whitfield. Julia is survived by her nieces, Martha Crumpacker (Jim) and Melinda Whitfield; two great-nephews and their wives; and three great-great nieces.
Julia attended Auburn University, where she was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Laboratory Technology. She was a registered Medical Technologist and managed the laboratory at South Highlands Hospital for many years before retiring.
Julia was an accomplished artist and was active in numerous local art associations. She was devoted to her family, who cherish many fond memories of her.
She was a faithful member of Second Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a memorial donation to the church, 1300 Columbiana Rd, Birmingham, AL 35216.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 10, 2021, at 12 pm at Elmwood Chapel, followed by a service at 1 pm. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
