ROGERS, JUNE BISHOP, age 85 of Birmingham, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie G Rogers; parents, Ernest and Nell Bishop of Argyle, FL; infant son, Jeffrey Dane Rogers who lived 8 hours; brother, Jimmy Bishop; sister-in-law, Frankie Bishop of De Funiak Springs, FL; and sister, Joyce Cairns of Acworth, GA. She is survived by her son, Gaines Rogers, Mary Esther, FL; daughter, Deirdre Allison (Kyle) of Hoover; grandchildren, Carolyn and Will Allison; and brother, Olin Bishop (Marlene) of De Funiak Springs, FL. Mrs. Rogers was a longtime member of the former Huffman Presbyterian Church. She grew up in the Euchee Valley Presbyterian Church, the oldest Presbyterian Church in Florida. She graduated from the Caraway School of Nursing and was a longtime employee at Caraway Methodist. Her family will receive friends on Monday, November 18, 2013 from 12:30-1:30 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. There will be a graveside service at Jefferson Memorial Gardens beginning at 2 with Rev. Ben Nichols officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made the American Lung Association.
