Kathryn McDaniel Brasher of Birmingham passed peacefully into the arms of our Heavenly Father in the presence of her family. She is preceded in death by her mother Florence Mize-McDaniel, father Perry McDaniel, and sister Dorothy Sue McDaniel-Jones. She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Joseph Lee Brasher, her children Sharon Brasher Bailey (Steve), Greg Brasher (Jan), Michelle Brasher Hall (Yance), nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother always encouraging us by saying, “I love you and you are special”. She was a dedicated member of North Shelby Baptist Church where her viewing and post-viewing memorial service will be held on Monday, June 1st from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. Graveside service will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation to the Alzheimer’s Foundation (1-866-232-8484) or North Shelby Baptist Church.
