Katie Sue Roper

Katie Sue Roper, was born January 14, 1944 to Ruby Delong Pounds and William Marvin Pounds. She went home to be with the Lord on November 23, 2020 at the age of 76. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Delong Pounds and William Marvin Pounds; sister, Delona Pounds; brother, Maxwell "Max" Pounds; sister, Bertha Nell Pounds; and daughter in law Robin Lanett Bullock Cagle. She leaves to cherish her memory her 4 children: Jimmy Dale Cagle, Paul Keith Cagle, Charles Anthony Cagle (Mary Smith Cagle), Patricia Dawn Roper Boshell (David Lee Boshell); brother, Luther Ray Pounds; and three grand children: Christopher Todd Cagle, Breanna Marie Cagle Kaiser and Lauren Nicole Bailey Jones.

Katie worked at Zayre for 17 years. After that she took care of children and the elderly until her health declined. She was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church of Trussville, AL. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Katie loved flowers but if you do not wish to send flowers, you may do a contribution to your favorite charity in her honor.

A message from Katie's family: Our family would like to specifically thank Southerncare New Beacon Hospice, nurses: Enjoli Hill, Anita Oliver and Regina Nunn, Sulfur Springs Baptist Church, Ruby Handley and Brenda Tate, for their love, true friendship and dedication to our mother. Without these people, our mothers care would have not been possible.

Funeral service 10:00-11:00 and burial 11:00-12:00 ~~ will be held at Sulpher Springs Baptist Church 7500 Roper Road Trussville, AL 35173.
