Lillie Mae Hicks age 92, of Birmingham, AL passed away on December 10, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron S. Hicks; parents, Leith Ellis and Lille Laurine Crews Murphree; Sisters, Jeanette Cutcliff and Doris Murphree; brother, Leith Murphree and niece, Nanci Kay Pate.
She is survived by sister in law, Mary Anne Hicks McClure; nephew, Doug Pate of Vestavia Hills, AL ; great niece, Angie Saia (Vince) children, Matthew, Abby and Madalyn of Vestavia Hills, AL; great nephew, Ronnie Pate (Kelly) children, Emily, Ashley, and Jessica of Cincinnati, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lillie graduated from Woodlawn High School in 1941. She retired from the Veterans Administration with 35 years of government service. After retirement, she volunteered at St. Vincent’s East Hospital. She was a lifelong member of Center Point United Methodist Church. In her youth, she as an avid swimmer and won many metals throughout the southeast.
Her family will receive friends Tuesday December 13, 2016 from 2:00 -2:30 P.M. at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. Funeral Service will follow at 2:30 P.M. Burial will be at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
