Linda Garner Tanner

Linda Garner Tanner, age 82, of Birmingham, passed away on September 22, 2025. She was a native of Trussville, AL and a graduate of Hewitt Trussville High School. She acquired her associates degree from Jeff State.

Linda was a longtime member of Huffman Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a longtime member of The Order of the Eastern Star. Linda was a credit analyst for over 30 years in the banking industry before retiring with Wells Fargo.

Linda was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Joseph Robert Tanner; her parents, Clarence Garner and Mattie Garner; her three brothers, Albert Garner, Clarence Garner, Jr. and Oliver Garner; her two sisters, Nellie Browning and Vivian Cosby.

She is survived by her children, Joseph “Joey” Tanner (Cathy) and Lynn Landry (Joseph); five grandchildren, Christina Boothe (Billy), Aerial Scalf, Patrick Landry, Elliott Landry and Amanda Landry. She also leaves behind three great granddaughters, Kiera Boothe, Aubrey Scalf and Emma Scalf.

A visitation will be held at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel on Monday, September 29th from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Rob Mohr will preside over the service. A committal will immediately follow the chapel service at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East in Trussville at the Garden of Atonement.
