Lucille Willcox Cater, a wonderful mother, grandmother, great and great great grandmother, and long- time resident of Birmingham, Al died of natural causes on Wednesday November 29, 2017 at the age of 108, while a resident of Fair Haven Retirement Community.
Lucille Cater is predeceased by her husband, Lucian Mayfield Cater and daughter, Jacqueline Creel. She is survived by children and spouses, Carolyn (ED) Jones , Frank M. (Dot) Cater, Lucianne (Robert) Pugh and Patty Cater McIntire. She left 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great – great grandchildren.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 AM on Saturday December 2, 2017 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. Visitation will be one hour before service. Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
The family would like to express heart felt thanks to her caregivers, Suzanne Washington and Faye Smith and the wonderful staff of Fair Haven’s A- Wing.
