Mabel Elsie, 101, passed away quietly in her sleep. She was born on May 21,1921 in Birmingham, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents Julian and Bessie Holston, brother Hal L. Holston and sister Lillie B. Sanders. She is survived by a nephew Hal L. Holston Jr., niece Kay Byers, niece Polly Bell and many cousins. A life partner John Turner; they attended many University of Alabama football games. She retired from the Interstate Commerce Commission feral Secretary position. Mabel's passion and dedication was to the youth at Acipco UMC. She taught Sunday school in her later years at Irondale UMC and co-organizer of the Amazing Grays group. But her FAMILY was the LOVE of her life. Visitation Saturday November 26, 2022 10 am at Irondale United UMC. Service to follow at 11 am. Graveside after service at Elmwood Cemetery. We asked that you meet in the front parking lot of Johns Ridout's Elmwood Chapel located at 800 Dennison Ave. Birmingham, AL. 35211 at 12:30PM.
