

Margaret Voyt, age 93, went to be with God June 8, 2024, at the home of her son Gregory and his wife Jayne, who had been lovingly caring for her for the last few years. She was born on August 20,1930, in Muskegon, MI, to Henry and Emma Kropf. Margaret was a very devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, with a devotion to Mary and an unwavering faith in God.
After graduating with a degree in art from St. Mary’s College, IN, Margaret spent two years as a novice in the Sisters of Maryknolls. She married Eugene Michael Voyt on July 2, 1955. After his retirement from the Air Force, they made Shalimar, FL, their home for 31 years. They then moved to Trussville, AL, where she has lived for the past 16 years. Both were active members of Holy Infant of Prague Catholic church where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Margaret enjoyed quilting, China painting, making rosaries for the church, and traveling the world with her family.
Margaret is survived by her children Michael Voyt of Tampa, FL; Gregory (Jayne) Voyt of Chesapeake, VA; Laura Voyt of Loudon, TN; Chaplain Lt. Col.(ret) Stephen Voyt of Niceville, FL; Paula Farmer (Ron) of Maryville, TN; and 5 grandchildren: Kevin, Sarah, and Jessica Voyt; and Courtney and Haley Kratz.
Margaret is preceded in death by her loving husband Eugene (Gene) of 56 years, their son Matthew, her parents Henry and Emma, her sisters Marie Luttrell and Colletta Pitcher. Family and friends will be celebrating her life with a funeral mass at Holy Infant of Prague Catholic church on June 18th with viewing at 10:00 A.M. and mass at 11:00 A.M.
