Marie C. Cerniglia age 89 of Birmingham, AL passed away December 12, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pasquale and Vincenzina Cerniglia; her sisters, Rose Monte and Tina Milazzo; brothers, Frank and Sam Cerniglia. She is survived by her sisters; Theresa Cerniglia and Annette (Joe) Reina. Along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. Marie graduated from Phillips High School and Wheeler Business College. She retired from US Steel and after 10 years she retired from OLS Church office. She was a member of St. Ann’s Altar Guild and a Beta Sigma Phi Sorority member. The family will receive friends at Our Lady of Sorrows, Monday, December 16th from 9-11 AM. Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 AM. The family would like to give special thanks for Hospice of Alabama and caregiver, Jennifer Twitty, for their love and support.
