Mark Howard Zassoda

On April 17, 2025, Mark Howard entered an eternal relationship with Jesus Christ. Mark 64 passed away at his home in Morris, Al. surrounded by loved ones. Mark was born on December 31,1960 to Kurt Sr. and Alice Zassoda. He was the second of three children.

Mark attended Homewood City Schools and was an accomplished wrestler throughout his high school career. Mark grew up attending Trinity UMC in Homewood and accomplished the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. He spent his life’s vocation in Computers and sales. Later he was in Construction and home renovation industry. Mark was a die hard Auburn fan, following all things Auburn. Mark was an integral part of Church H2O.

Mark is survived by his wife, Paula Zassoda; older Brother, Kurt S. Zassoda Jr. (Julia); sister Lisa Zassoda-Verciglio(John Verciglio); his four children and three Grandchildren: Kurt Zassoda(Jackie), Ashley Zassoda Chandler(Justin) and their children, Link and Bishop; Heather Zassoda Neals(Robert) and son Adonis; Joseph Zassoda and his fiancé, Jessica.

The family would like to say a very special thanks to the staff of Compassus Hospice and Adrena Austin Renee Lipsey. Mark’s family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to St. Jude Hospital, Memphis, TN in Mark’s memory.

A visitation will held at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home in the Celebration Chapel on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 from 10 am until 11 am. A celebration of Mark’s life will follow at 11 am. He will be laid to rest with his parents at Elmwood Cemetery.
