Mary Jane Bartholow

Jane was born on July 11 ,1941, in Birmingham, Alabama, to John Hollister Camp and Mary Lee Pitchford of Birmingham, Alabama. Jane spent her early childhood in the Birmingham area while graduating from Corner High School in 1959, where she was a Cheerleader. Jane was a very active volunteer in many charitable organizations, including the Civiettes, Junior League, the PTA of Brookwood Forest School. She was the team Mother of countless little league teams. The Glass family was a proud founding Family of Brookwood Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. In 1989, Jane married the Reverend, Gerald Howard Bartholow. Jane served as the Administrator of Unity Church of Birmingham for over 20 years. Her administrative duties included counselor, prayer partner, public relations expert, bookstore manager, wedding coordinator, coordinator of special events, newsletter and bulletin designer, volunteer coordinator, decorator, and much more. Jane and Jerry travelled the world touching and guiding the lives of countless others, sharing the Unity message of love, light and compassion. She was always able to find a silver lining in every situation of life. Jane was preceded in death by her parents John Hollis Camp and Mary Lee Pitchford, and her sister ,Susan Kaye Peacock (Martin) of Birmingham. Jane is survived by her two brothers, John Hollis Camp (Stella) of Huntsville, David Michael Camp (Delia) of Mobile, her children, William Paul Glass, Jr., Christopher Brandon Glass, Mary Lee Camille Glass and her grandchild William Paul Glass, III. Step children, Kathy McKinney of Ft. Walton FL , Laura Kruglewicz (Scott) of Atlanta Georgia, Lisa Carpenter, of New Smyrna Beach FL, and Jon Carpenter of Chicago (Maureen) and many nephews nieces and step grandchildren that she loved as her own. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 21, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home with a graveside service following at 11:00 a.m. at Elmwood Cemetery.
