Mary C. Wade

Mary C. Wade, age 82, of Locust Fork, Alabama passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022. Mary was born on May 17, 1939, to Columbus F. and Velma Simpkins Cater. Mary was an accomplished organist and served as the handbell coordinator at her church. She was a faithful and longtime member of Brewster Road Baptist Church and Locust Fork Baptist Church. She loved her church family and friends. Mary had a green thumb and could practically grow anything and her home was always filled with various plants and flowers. Then later, five grandchildren came along. With her, they enjoyed their infinite number of adventures. When she was not with her grandchildren, Mary enjoyed shopping at various stores.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Autry L. Wade Jr.; parents, Columbus F. and Velma Cater; and granddaughter, Rebecca Hunt.

She is survived by her son, Michael (Yolonda) Wade; daughter, Dawn (Robbie) Hunt; grandchildren, Andrew (Jamie) Wade, Luke (Madison) Wade, Noah Wade, Randall Hunt, and Rachel Hunt; great-granddaughter, Kendall Wade; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation for Mary will be held Monday, February 28, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel, 1500 Gadsden Hwy, Birmingham, AL 35235. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel. Burial will be at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
