

On April 26, 2014, Michael Owen Lawless, Jr. completed his earthly race of 24 years, and was called home to be with his Savior, the Lover of his soul. He graduated Hewitt Trussville High School, and Samford University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Old Testament and Hebrew. He attended church at Briarwood Presbyterian. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Ken Statham and Owen and Margaret Lawless. Michael is survived by his wife, Tiffany Lawless; parents, Mike and Pam Lawless, Sr.; sister, Michelle Lawless; grandmother, Shirley Statham; aunt, Sheila Thompson; father and mother-in-law, Jim and Sherri Henson; sister-in-law, Rose Ollis; siblings-in-law, Jamie, Sarah, Hannah, Ben, Josh and James Henson; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Michael was a lover of deep theological discussions; bodybuilder; mischievous teaser of his younger sister, Michelle; spoiler of his much-loved pets - Yoda the pig and Tara the puppy dog; go-to computer geek for many family and friends, avid fan of Star Wars and The Hobbit, enjoyer of both music and reading. Michael especially loved evenings at home with Tiffy – fires, homemade popcorn, Xbox games, and movies. "Your faith is not a Jenga Tower; faith stands on faith alone." Visitation will be Wednesday, April 30, 2014 from 5 PM until 8 PM at Ridout's Trussville Chapel. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until service time at 11 AM Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Deerfoot Baptist Church. Interment will be at Jefferson Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Department of Religion, Samford University, 800 Lakeshore Drive, Birmingham, Alabama 35229 orAmerican Diabetes Association , P.O.
