Mildred O Wells

Mitzi born April 26, 1930, passed into eternity on January 17, 2015. Her kind and gentle spirit and Christian devotion were an inspiration and spiritual foundation to her children and grandchildren. Mitzi was a renowned cook who also enjoyed gardening, but her greatest passions in life were her family and friends who will miss her dearly. Mitzi lived her life in the Birmingham area and was a graduate of Ensley High School. She began working at AT&T and later worked at Roberts & Sons Printing and Dewberry Printing (National Engraving). She was a member of the NSDAR and a faithful member of Shades Mountain church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Luther Odom, and mother, Bertie Geneva Gray Odom, and her sister, Margaret Odom Putnam. She is survived by her children Catharine Wells Lundy (Bill), Wallace Wells, Jr., and Gray Wells and her grandchildren Laura Lundy Wheale (Patrick), Abby Wells, Emma Wells, Will Lundy, Lee Lundy and Spencer Lundy and nieces Carol McGill Perez (Tony), Judy Odum Sisson (John), Elaine Odum Morgan (Perry), Diane Gooliaff (Nick), Loise (Clarence ) Lindblom and nephews Bill Putnam (Sara), Roger Putnam (Peggy), Spencer T. Bachus III (Linda), Jackie Wells(Lynn), and Brian Wells (Karen) . Visitation will be held at the Shades Mountain church of Christ at 959 Alford Avenue in Hoover, on Tuesday, January 20 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A brief visitation will be held at the Shades Mountain church of Christ from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 21, which will be followed by a service officiated by Mel Futrell. In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions be made to Shades Mountain church of Christ.
