With deep love and profound gratitude for a life beautifully lived, the family of Myra Joyce Buckner Davis announces her passing on February 9, 2026. Myra was a cherished mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend whose presence brought warmth, comfort, and unwavering strength to everyone blessed to know her.
Born on June 22, 1942, Myra built her life around faith, family, and service. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry Liles Davis, Jr., and her son, Richard Liles Davis; her brothers, William “Bill” Buckner and Melvin Evans; and her sister, Frances Thomas.
She is survived by her loving children: Robert Davis (Jennifer), Rachel Jones (David), and Rebecca Howison (Russ). Myra’s legacy continues through her treasured grandchildren: Richard “RJ” Davis (Ashlyn), Jesse Davis (Jessica), Tatum Dunn (Brandon), Tucker Jones (Holli), Josiah Hunter, Zach Hunter, and Anna Hunter; and her great grandchildren, Jolene Davis and Adoniram Dunn. She is also survived by her devoted brother, Patrick Buckner (Rhonda); and many nieces and nephews that she loved so dearly.
Myra lived a life of extraordinary generosity—always giving far more than she took. She raised four children with unwavering devotion and was a steadfast caregiver throughout her life, tending to ill family members even when her own health faltered. She embodied selflessness in its purest form.
Her Christian faith was the foundation of her life. A faithful member of her church and an uplifting voice in the choir, Myra loved the Lord with her whole heart. She had a gift for making everyone feel like family; she truly never met a stranger. Myra was the solid rock upon which her family stood—an angel on earth whose quiet strength carried others through their darkest moments.
A lover of adventure, she embraced travel and new experiences with joy and curiosity. She fought through life’s challenges with resilience and grace, all while pouring love into those around her. Myra was, in every sense, the matriarch of her family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Elmwood Chapel Funeral Home—a fitting date to honor a woman who loved so deeply and faithfully. A celebration of Myra’s life will follow at 1:00 PM in the chapel. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Elmwood Cemetery.
Myra’s love, strength, and faith will continue to echo through the lives she touched. Her absence leaves a void, but her legacy remains, shining brightly in every heart she shaped.
