Nancy M. Nabors

Nancy M. Nabors was born October 22, 1942, to Charles C. and Vera Harris Mozley of Nixon Chapel, Marshall County. She graduated from Boaz/Albertville High School, completed an AS in Business from Shelton State Jr. College, and completed a BS in Business Administration from Livingston University (now University of West Alabama). She retired from the University of Alabama Birmingham as Supervisor of Personnel Records and served in UAB Risk Management. Nancy was the Executive Director of the Demopolis Chamber of Commerce and managed/coordinated three Christmas on the River Celebrations. She died April 8, 2024, at home, after two and a half years of declining health, including six months of hospice care.

Nancy was preceded in death by two sisters, Jeanette Hamic (RN, Earnest) and Sharon Gobel (seamstress and Supervisor at Lee Manufacturing), and survived by her brother, Charles Mozley (Nell), minister and counselor. Nieces comprise Lisa King, Laura Weisberg (Craig), Sherrie McNutt (Randy), Robin Williamson (Chuck), Donna Riposa (Steven), other great nieces, and nieces on the Nabors’ lineage. Nephews comprise Brent Mozley (Elizabeth), Gerry Hamic, and nephews on the Nabors’ lineage.

She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Nabors, previous CEO/Administrator of the Tombigbee Healthcare Authority operating Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital, Tombigbee EMS, Rural Health Clinic Linden, BWWMH Home Health, and other divisions. Charles defines her as action oriented, bold, compassionate, educatable, principle centered, productive, religious, elegant, and dedicated.

Nancy enjoyed traveling, bicycling, RVing, reading, pilates, knitting, gourmet cooking, gardening, flowers, flower arrangements, and artistic painting.

A visitation for friends and family will take place on Tuesday, April 16th at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel from 11:00 a.m. until 12: p.m. A graveside service will follow at Alabama’s National Cemetery in Montevallo at 1:15 p.m. Her brother Reverend Charles Mozley will preside over the service.
