Opal Marie Long, 84, of Birmingham, died Friday, November 29, 2013.She was born to the late Jim and Pauline Johns, Dec. 26, 1928, in Cullman, AL. Opal was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Long. She is survived by six children: William T. Long, Thomas M. Long, and Terry W. Long of Birmingham, AL; Cynthia A. Sheffield, of Marietta, GA; Debra P. Majors, of Lafayette, LA; and Anthony G. Long of Colorado. She is also survived by two sisters, Mabel Hill and Verda Mae Rasco, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.A visitation for friends and family will be held at 10 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 at Ridout's Trussville Chapel.
