Pauline “Polly” Davis Knighton, 87, of Vestavia Hills, AL passed away on September 14, 2014. Polly was born on June 24, 1927, in Birmingham, AL to the late Mary and Milard Davis. She worked for the Birmingham News where she met her late husband, Yeargan Knighton of thirty years. Polly was a beloved and very active member of her community and church family at Vestavia Hills Baptist Church. She was a devoted Christian with a very loving and giving heart. Polly is survived by her daughter, Terri Arrington of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Chase and Christina Arrington of Birmingham, AL; sister, Mary Elizabeth of Trussville, AL and many other beloved family and friends. Visitation will be held at Elmwood Chapel on September 16, 2014 from 5-7pm. A celebration of life service will be at 1 pm September 17, 2014 at Vestavia Hills Baptist Church the family will receive friends from 12-1 at the church.
