Peggie J. Baker, age 87, of Birmingham went home to be with the Lord Friday, October 13, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, James F. Baker, Jr. and her parents Leander and Mamie Shinn Smith. She is survived by her daughter Becky A. Speer (Jerry) of Columbus, GA.; son Richard T. Baker (Sabrina) of Sterrett, AL.; grandchildren Diana Baker Ellis, Jerison Speer, Christopher J. Baker, and Louise Speer Robershaw; great-grandchildren Grace Robershaw, Lucy Robershaw, Charles R. Baker, Allie Robershaw, Maggie Speer and James T. Ellis.
Peggie was office manager for Dr. H. Ford Turner for over 30 years, and served as the secretary for the Alabama Dental Implant Congress. She was the secretary for the First United Methodist Church of Center Point for 10 years and enjoyed many friendships there as well.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at 10:00 A.M. at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville, AL.
