
Peggy Watson Molleson, age 94, of Homewood, Alabama, passed away on September 6, 2022. Peg was born in Bessemer, Alabama, on June 18, 1928, the youngest of the six children of CJ and Leona Watson. She graduated from Bessemer High School and the University of Alabama. Peg was preceded in death by her parents; her five siblings; her husband, James B (“Jim”) Molleson; several nieces and nephews, including Melanie Watson, Randy Watson, Larry Watson, and Rick Hurst; and her great-nephew Alastair Watson. She is survived by her sister-in-law Jessie Watson; a number of nieces and nephews, including Susan Kelly Watson, Kerry Watson (Pamela), and Jerry Watson (Ann); and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
Peg loved gardening, music, and dancing. She grew beautiful roses, as well as other plants, at her residence in Homewood. She was a long-time member of Trinity Methodist Church and enjoyed being part of the Trinity Singers. For many years, Peg and Jim were active members of various square dancing and round dancing groups. After Jim’s death, Peg continued to find joy in line dancing. Although she was unable to dance the last year of her life, Peg enjoyed listening to the music and watching others dance at the weekly Mix and Mingle at her retirement home.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Elmwood Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Reid Crotty officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Trinity Methodist Church in Homewood, Alabama, or to the charity of your choice.
