CARTER, PHILIP GROGAN, age 90, of Palmerdale, born December 17, 1921 as the eldest son of Clyde and Nell Carter, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Martha Jean Carter. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ella Lorene Carter; brother, Leo Rex Carter of Hollywood, AL; son, Nicholas Craig Carter of Fort Myers, FL; grandsons, Alex Crawford III, Clint Edward Carter and Kent Philip Carter; and great granddaughter, Brooke Crawford. Philip served in the Pacific theatre of WWII from 1941-45 with the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 from 5-7 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. His service will be at the chapel on Thursday, March 29, 2012 beginning at 2 PM. Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens.
