

Phillip Baylor Norris passed away on Monday, November 27th, 2017, after a long, hard-fought battle with COPD. He was 72 years old. Phillip was born in Birmingham, AL on September 19th, 1945 to the late William Balch and Jadean Roton Norris. Phillip developed into a hard-working and loyal man who dedicated over 45 years of his career to Cowin Equipment Company in Tarrant, AL. Outside of work, Phillip was a devoted, loving, and caring husband and father. His unique humor, charisma, warm nature, and love of all things John Deere were special characteristics that his family and friends adored. Phillip enjoyed history (especially war movies and documentaries), classic cars and trucks, and a good homemade meal. Phillip will be truly missed and heaven just received one heck of a great angel.
Phillip’s memory will be kept alive by his beloved wife of 37 and ½ years, Judith Sharpe Norris; his children Anna Marie Norris Koss (son-in-law Joey Allen Koss), Jennifer Alexis Norris Poole (son-in-law Wayne Anthony Poole), and John Phillip Norris (daughter-in-law Christina Elizabeth Norris); his grandchildren David Anthony Dothard, Samuel Wade Mullins, Savannah Michelle Poole, Ashley Marie Poole, and Baylor John-Phillip Norris; his great-grandchildren Gideon, Serenity, Myra, and Sawyer Maverick; his sister Jennifer Norris Kyle; his brother Dean Loveless Norris; and his nephews Brent Coleman and Dwayne Coleman.
Visitation and Memorial Service will be held for Phillip on Thursday, November 30th, from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel, located at 1500 Gadsden Highway, Birmingham, AL 35235.
