

Cox, Randle Clifton (Cliff), age 86, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Oct 19. Mr. Cox was born in Long Beach, Mississippi, but lived most of his life in Birmingham. He was a 1946 graduate of Ramsay High School and graduated from Auburn University in 1950 with a B.A. in English. After serving in the Marine Corps as a commissioned officer from 1950-1952, Mr. Cox was employed by South Central Bell and AT&T for 34 years and was an agent with Realty South for 14 years. From 1992-1994, he and his wife taught English at a university in Shandong Province, China.
Mr. Cox was committed to his Lord, his wife, his family, and his church. He served as both a deacon and an elder. Cliff had the gift of giving and supported causes that furthered the gospel of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He loved opening his home to prayer groups and Bible studies. His family appreciated his sense of humor that kept laughter in their home. Mr. Cox was a member of North Shelby Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Clarence D. Cox, Jr., and by his parents, Clarence D. and Louise R. Cox. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Becky Dean Cox; children Nan Morris (Scott), grandchildren Matt, Randy, Rebecca, Katherine, and Gregory of Birmingham; Carolyn Hinton (Hank), grandchildren Crandall, Henry, Jr., and Marcy of Eufaula, AL; and Tricia Housel (Paul), and granddaughter Lucy Clifton of Birmingham.
The family wishes to thank all those at the Col. Robert L. Howard Veterans Home in Pell City, AL, who provided loving care for Mr. Cox.
Visitation will be held on Oct. 22 at 6:00 p.m. followed by a service at 7:00 p.m. at North Shelby Baptist Church. A private burial will take place at Elmwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to North Shelby Baptist Church, 4100 Belcher Drive, Birmingham, AL 35242.
