

Richard Edward Brooks Jr. was born to the late Richard Edward Brooks, Sr. and Mary Jacqueline Brooks on January 21, 1958. He peacefully entered eternal rest in the Lord on Saturday May 29, 2022, where he was in the presence of his wife of 27 years and friend of 30 years.
Richard was native of Elizabeth Town, Kentucky. He served his county for 12 yrs with the Military Branch of the Army. During this time, he excelled in military status and became an acknowledged instructor in the Army LPN program. After discharge, Richard pursued his career in healthcare care and obtained a Master Degree in Health Care Administration. During his career he cared for patients in the areas of ER, MICU and SICU. He also became a Nursing Home Administrator which he impacted the care of elderly patients in Alabama and Georgia in positive ways.
He was a member of Faith Chapel of Birmingham for the past 16 yrs. He served in the church through the Growth and Development programs and Food Distribution Ministry during this time.
Richard was blessed with one sibling Randy Brooks whom departed in Sept of 2018.
Loving memories are left to cherish by his wife Vicki; two daughters, Jessica Brooks-Taylor (Luke Taylor) and Victoria Baldwin; three sons, Michael Brooks (Christina Brooks), Tremayne Baldwin and Quentin Baldwin, cousin/brother Wesley Brooks (Jenny Brooks), 2 uncles Donald Brooks and Billy Brooks, 1 aunt Carolyn Brooks and a host of grandchildren, cousins and friends.
His family will celebrate his life with visitation on Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 5-7 at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. His service will be at the chapel on Friday, June 3, 2022 beginning at 2:00. He will be laid to rest on Monday, June 6, 2022 at Alabama National Cemetery with a graveside service beginning at 12:30.
