Robert N. Padgett, Sr. age 79 of Birmingham passed away Sunday, July 1, 2012. He was a graduate of Woodlawn High School, The University of Alabama Tuscaloosa with a BS in chemistry as well as being a member of Pi Kappa Phi, Samford University with a degree in pharmacy, and a law degree from Birmingham School of Law. Mr. Padgett served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Grace Jane Padgett; and his parents, John Austin and Grace Guice Padgett. He is survived by his sons, Robert N, Padgett, Jr., Steve Padgett, and Jeff Padgett; and one sister, Joanne Roddam (Roy); many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel beginning at 12:00 noon with a chapel service at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
