Ruth Goodwin

Goodwin, Ruth Malone McCarty, age 90 of Birmingham, AL passed away on October 8, 2012. She graduated West End High School, retired from St. Regis Paper/ Hoerner Waldorf, member of Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leighton Coleman McCarty; brother, Ben E. Malone; granddaughter, Tracy Hughes Hulbert. Ruth is survived by her husband, Jack Goodwin; daughters, Carol (Bobby) Romager and Marilyn (Tony) Hughes; step-daughter, Sherry (Mark) Garlington and Vickie (Wallace) Wesson; step-son, Dennis (Glenda) Goodwin; grandchildren, Amy (Trey) VanHooser, Julie (John) Cole, Anthony Hughes, Jr., Taylor, Sidney and Payton Garlington ; great grandchildren, Leighton and Aidan Frew and Jake Cole; brother-in-law, Aaron P. (Niki) Goodwin; special care giver, Quisy Wallace. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 10, 2012 from 6 PM until 8 PM at Ridout’s Trussville Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Alzheimer of Central Alabama 300 Office Park Drive Mountain Brook, AL 35223.
