Samuel Richard Downey, II 3-13-1981 to 2-1-2013 Richard passed away following a brief illness. During his short life he attended Mt. Brook Schools and Shades Valley High School. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Downey; his grandfathers, Samuel Richard “Dick” Downey and James Walker Burroughs. He is survived by his father, Sam Downey; his grandmother, Jun Burroughs; his sister, Casey; and grandparents Barbara and David Pyles of Nevada; aunts, Joy West and Sue Hassler. Richard was loved and will be missed by his cousins, family, and many friends. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Elmwood Cemetery.
