Samuel L. McClenney, age 80 of Birmingham passed away Friday, February 14, 2014 at 3:00 PM. He served his country and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Mr. McClenney retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 52 years. He leaves to cherish his memory, four children; Arthur McClenney, Carlene “Peggy” Grant, Sandra Sherrod, and Sandrika McClenney, three stepsons; W. Joe Simmons, Tommy Simmons, and Reginald Simmons, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one brother, and a host of relatives and friends. The family will receive friends Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Elmwood Chapel. Mr. McClenney’s celebration of life will be held Friday, February 21, 2014 at noon at Elmwood Chapel.
