Sue was born on January 23, 1945 to Joseph Grissaffi and Lucille Runk Grissaffi in Dallas,Texas. She graduated from Highland Park High School. While in Dallas, she met her beloved husband Scott Culpepper and they married in 1969.
Sue was very active in her church, First Baptist Church of Center Point. She loved the Lord and served Him well her entire life. She enjoyed volunteering in the nursery on Sundays and later she would work in the church office. She was always looking for ways to help others in need. Sue would often take meals and visit the members of her church that could no longer attend services. She was selfless, loyal and a dear friend to many throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband Scott, her parents, her sisters Blanche Holden, Peggy Cooper, Gail Hollingworth, Betty Clark, Joyce Wolff and her brothers Bill and Eddie Grissaffi. She is survived by her brothers Joseph Grissaffi, Lewis Grissaffi, and her sister Patricia Boggs, daughters Christina Lea Nelson (Jonathan F. Nelson, Sr.), Cynthia Sue Culpepper, grandchildren Jonathan Jr. and Sophia Nelson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Our family would like to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude for all of the care that Hope Hospice rendered to her while on hospice. We are also deeply grateful and appreciative for the care and love given to her by her caregivers, Ciera Smith and Suzette Brewster.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
“Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring praise at the city gate.” Proverbs 31:31
