January 17,1964 - March 27, 2016 Suzanne Lee Reeves was called to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior on Easter Sunday. Suzanne was a very kind and thoughtful person, always thinking of others before herself. She was an inspiration to her family and co-workers as she never complained or let her 26 year battle with MS keep her from pursuing life and a career she loved to the fullest. Suzanne is preceded in death by her grandparents Oliver and Madel Reeves of Vernon, AL and W.L. and Gladys Edge, her uncle Hugh Lee Edge and cousin Keith Kling all of Birmingham. Survivors include her loving and care-giving parents Floyd and Mary Ann Reeves, sister Cathy Reeves, aunts Betty Kling and Anne Edge, cousins Keith, Leigh Anne and Mark. Suzanne was a graduate of Ensley High School. She attended The University of Alabama and received her undergraduate degree in Child Life. She later received her Master's Degree in Education from Samford University and later received her Principle Certification from UAB. Children always held a special place in her heart and her 29 years at Children's of Alabama attested to that. She began her career there as a Child Life Specialist, later served as Director of Child Life, Education and The Sunshine School and most recently as Special Services Coordinator in Volunteer Services. Suzanne was a lifelong member of Central Park Baptist Church and also taught briefly at Central Park Christian School. She was also a member of a professional teachers society Delta Kappa Gamma. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 29th at Elmwood Chapel from 11:30 until 1:00 followed by a celebration of her life in the Chapel, officiated by Dr. Levan Parker. Graveside will follow. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Central Park Christian School or Children's of Alabama in her honor.idout's Mortuary-Elmwood Chapel, Birmingham, AL.
