SHELTON, TENA SMITHERS, age 94, of Alabaster, AL, died April 27, 2018. Mrs. Shelton worked at U. S. Steel during World War II, she was a bookkeeper for a family business, and was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Pelham, Pelham, Alabama. Survivors include her son, Douglas J. (Mary Dean) Shelton of Alabaster; daughter, Linda J. Hughes (Ed) of Huntsville, Alabama; grandchildren, Andrew B. Shelton (Anna), Ginger D. Edwards (Stacy), David Hughes (Rachel), and Cynthia Erwin (Charlie); eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday, April 30, 2018 from 1 until 2 p.m. at Elmwood
Chapel, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2 p.m. with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Pelham’s Home Bound Ministries. Ridout's Elmwood Chapel is directing.
