

Theresa was a devoted homemaker whose warmth and generosity were most evident in her kitchen. She was an exceptional cook and baker, known far and wide for her famous coconut and lemon pies and her delicious stuffed artichokes. Her home was always filled with the comforting aromas of her culinary creations, bringing joy to all who gathered around her table. More than anything, Theresa cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Gloria Nelson (Fred), Anthony Paul Arnone Jr. (Sherry), and Lisa Carruba (Louis). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Fred A. Nelson (Leigh Ann), Nicole McLaughlin (Thomas), Mark A. Nelson (Erin), Alisha Two Bears (Cole), Christina Bunn (Rusty), Louis Joseph Carruba (Harris), and Alexandra Helms (Blake). She was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Freddie and John Paul Nelson; Marley, Stella, and Michael McLaughlin; Gianna and Anthony Joseph Nelson; Gabriel, Jacob, and Olivia Two Bears; Joseph, Lucas, and William Bunn; Charles Helms; and Louis and Christina Carruba. Theresa is also survived by her sister, Lena Mae Giangrosso.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Anthony Paul Arnone, as well as her brother, Charles A. Long.
A Funeral Mass will be held on March 19, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, located at 5514 Double Oak Ln, Birmingham, Alabama. Visitation will take place from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service. A committal service will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
Theresa’s love for family and tradition will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.
